POST x MH

Urban flair and Falco sounds on the Vienna Danube Canal: as part of a fashion event, the new uniforms were presented to media representatives and influencers on the catwalk with employees of the “Post” on Wednesday morning. Star designer Marina Hoermanseder is in charge of the design of the new uniforms, which combine the brand values of Swiss Post in a fashionable way. With the commitment of the native Viennese, who is one of Austria's most successful fashion exports, Austrian Post is taking a further step towards a modern and future-oriented external appearance. Accordingly, the new outfit not only has a strong design, but above all means a reliable companion in everyday working life for its wearer.

“As image bearers, our employees represent the company to the outside world - appearance and appearance play a major role. However, it was particularly important to us that the uniforms not only have their finger on the pulse of the times, but that our employees like to wear the new outfit and feel comfortable in it. Marina Hoermanseder impressively combines design and functionality in her creation, ” Dr. Georg Pölzl, General Director of Austrian Post, says at the successful presentation of the new uniforms. “It is a pleasure for me to accept my design assignment as an Austrian fashion designer for the new uniforms of the Austrian Post. As a designer, in the course of the development process - especially during my day as an employee in the branch and as a delivery person - it was exciting to experience first-hand how important a perfect cut and high-quality materials are for the quality and comfort of a uniform. Building on this experience, we have developed a design that lives up to this claim and yet unmistakably bears my signature, ” Marina Hoermanseder says about the successful cooperation with Austrian Post. The new uniforms use the “post yellow” as a signal color even more strongly as a component of recognition and have stamp prints that pick up on Marina Hoermanseder's signature and function as a stylistic device. High-quality materials and skin-friendly fabrics with climate-regulating properties ensure a comfortable fit in any weather. The garments can also be put together individually - depending on personal preference, weather conditions and work environment. During the development process, the future wearers had the opportunity to provide suggestions on the look, cut and comfort, which were integrated into the designs. Before the final roll-out takes place, a two-phase wearing test (summer and winter) will start in August 2017, in which adjustments can be made if necessary. In the future, around 12,000 employees in delivery, in the branch network and in goods transport will be in the new uniforms - from the beginning of 2019 the outfit will ensure the perfect appearance throughout Austria. In order for the new uniforms to meet all requirements, the successful designer slipped into the yellow outfit even before the first ideas were incorporated into the designs - this video gives an insight into Marina Hoermanseder's Post-Day.
