Spring | Summer 2018

Inspired by hand-painted Russian nesting dolls, iconic 1990s looks, New York street style and the charm of extremes, Marina Hoermanseder’s latest collection embraces the many different facets of female diversity.

Think sporty shirts, oversize hoodies and sweatpants, but also deft plays on craftsmanship: Variations of Hoermanseder’s signature “strap skirts” and “Kasper bags” round out the fun, feminine look, underscored by lace applique and floral fabrics especially designed for the collection.

Meanwhile, brightly painted leather key pieces, inspired by modern children’s orthotics, draw the eye: Their elaborate forms highlight the designer’s passion for orthopedics and sculptural shapes. For the first time, Marina Hoermanseder’s recurring buckle motif becomes larger than life – and joins generous volumes as a distinct and decisive collection detail. The result is a collection defined by its interplay of hard and soft, of athleisure meets couture.

Denim marks another first for Hoermanseder, translated to her trademark design language – and elegant trousers, blazers or one-of-a-kind corsets. Other stand-out pieces include a skirt encrusted with thousands of glittering Swarovski crystals.

Now for the fifth season running, Christian Louboutin serves as the runway show’s sole footwear sponsor. Once again, the brand collaborated with Marina Hoermanseder on a range of customized shoes that accentuate the designer’s matchless feminine chic and striking signature style.
